Oldtown Kopitiam @ Jusco Seremban 2

OMG... Looking at my list of places and food to blog about.. I almost fainted.. I'm too too too SLOW!! Blame it on The Corner Flag :-P OK so let's take a short break from Teluk Intan and come back to Seremban. I can't remember when exactly was this but it was in February my dad and I went to Oldtown Kopitiam in Jusco Seremban 2 for tea and they were, I think they are still having this My Tea @ OldTown promotion. There are 6 different sets that you can choose from and each set is served with a cup OldTown Teh Tarik or OldTown White Coffee (Hot / Cold) .

My Tea @ OldTown (3pm - 5:30pm)

My Tea 1 - Condensed Milk Thick Toast @ RM4.50
My Tea 2 - Kaya & Butter Steam Bread @ RM4.50
My Tea 3 - Curry Puff Basket @ RM5.50
My Tea 4 - Meehoon Siam Classic @ RM5.50
My Tea 5 - Curry Potato Paratha (2 pcs) @ RM5.50
My Tea 6 - Ice Cream Toast (Double) @ RM5.90
Dad's Kaya & Butter Steam Bread. Oops.. Dad's hand. He was too hungry I think. :p
Dad ordered My Tea 2 (Kaya & Butter Steam Bread) with a cup of hot OldTown Teh Tarik. I've tried this steam bread before back in PJ and I find it so-so only. I still prefer their toasts.

Dad's hot OldTown Teh Tarik.
As for me I ordered the Ice Cream Toast set with cold OldTown White Coffee coz I felt like eating something sweet that time. It was my 2nd time having the Ice Cream Toast here and this time I was quite disappointed with it coz the ice cream sandwiched between the toast was already melting when served. I waited for quite sometime for my toast so I guess they must have forgotten about it when it was ready and maybe that caused the melting.. :-(
My Ice Cream Toast.
The ice cream is already melting. :-(
The bill total came up to RM12.05 and we got a 5 sen discount from the boss coz dad is a regular here and very friend with the boss. :-P So it was RM12.

My cold OldTown White Coffee.

New Asia Laksa @ Oakland Commercial Square, Seremban

It was Chinese New Year eve and everyone was getting ready for their reunion dinner. Same goes to our family and we had to travel back to grandma's place in Teluk Intan. It was around 12 plus in the afternoon, we left our house and decided to go to Oakland Commercial Square to grab a quick brunch before we start our journey. Guess what? Yes.. all the Chinese shops that we wanted to go to were either closed or in the midst of closing.. >_<!!

Mum's mee hoon soup with fish paste.

Brother's dry thick noodles.

Brother showing off his wan tan and he got the last dumpling!
After driving a few rounds we decided to go to New Asia Laksa coz that's the only Chinese shop that's still open. So we sat down and was ready to order.. and when the waitress came to take our order she started with "sorry ah.. our laksa finish, hakka mee finish, wan tan mee finish, blah blah blah ... ". So without any other choices left, we had to settle for their mee hoon soup and dry thick noodles with dumplings and fish paste.

My dry thick noodles with a miserable vege.

... And a few miserable fish paste
As for our drinks, dad and I ordered iced Chinese tea, they ran out of coffee powder, so mum had to order Nescafe and brother had a cup of hot Milo.

Mum's Nescafe. She said it's too sweet. I think it's OK. :-P

Brother's hot Milo.

Me and dad's iced Chinese tea.
I can't really give a good review of this place since all the food was sold out. But I make it a point that no matter the food is bad or good, the place is nice or ugly, I'll still share them with all of you. :-) I'll be back to try the other stuff another day.

Delifrance @ Jusco Seremban 2

This is another post of a pre-Chinese New Year meal with my family back in Seremban. Mum had a Delifrance buy 1 sandwich free 1 sandwich voucher from her friend, so she suggested to go to the Delifrance outlet in Jusco Seremban 2 for dinner and redeem the voucher as it was going to expire soon.

Tuna D'licious @ RM8.50 (this was FREE as the price is lower)

Chicken D'light @ RM10.50
We ordered the Tuna D'licious and Chicken D'light sandwiches. Mum and dad didn't want to eat sandwich, so they ordered a baguette with garlic, butter and kaya spread. The Tuna D'licious sandwich was served in a croissant with tuna, sliced tomatoes and lettuce stuffed inside with salad as side. Same goes to the Chicken D'light sandwich.

Sharing is caring. Brother and I both shared the sandwiches.

Baguette with garlic, butter and kaya spread @ RM4.80
The only thing with the Chicken D'light sandwich was the chicken meat was grind until very fine and mix in mayonese that made it a bit wet. The baguette was a bit hard but the combination of the garlic, butter and kaya spread was awesome.

Hot Coffee @ RM5.60

Hot Chocolate @ RM5.40
As for drinks, mum and dad both ordered Hot Coffee, brother had a cup of Hot Chocolate and I had a wonderful glass of Iced Chocolate. The iced chocolate was very creamy and quite chocolaty. Nice!

My Iced Chocolate! @ RM6.40
Overall the meal was OK. Not fantastic but good enough to fill our tummies! :-) The total bill, including service charge, came up to RM36.00. It'll be much higher if it's not for the free voucher. :-D

Haji Sheriff's Cendol, Seremban

Last 2 weeks when I was back in Seremban for my Chinese New Year break, my parents brought my brother and I to this Indian shop in Seremban town which serve the best rojak and cendol according to them. I've passed by this shop numerous times but I didn't know that! What a shame! :-P

Haji Sheriff's Cendol @ Seremban
So I stepped into Haji Sheriff's Cendol (or the corner green shop coz everything there is green in colour. The tables, the chairs, the workers' uniform, the signboard and of course, the cendol is green too :-P) for the very first time..

My cendol pulut. Everything is just nice! Not too sweet, the pulut is not too hard and the amazing thing is the cendol is not frozen even though it's "buried" under the shaved ice!
All of us ordered rojak mee and also a bowl of cendol each. For cendol you can either order the normal one (shaved ice + cendol + brown sugar syrup + coconut milk), cendol kacang (shaved ice + cendol + brown sugar syrup + coconut milk + red beans), cendol pulut (shaved ice + cendol + brown sugar syrup + coconut milk + glutinous rice) or cendol pulut kacang (shaved ice + cendol + brown sugar syrup + coconut milk + red beans + glutinous rice). I don't really like red beans, so I ordered the cendol pulut.

Mr. brother is enjoying his cendol.
As for the rojak, it's either with out without mee (noodles). Ours came with yellow noodles, bean curds, hard boiled egg, cucuk udang (shrimp crackers), indian kuih, shredded sengkuang (Chinese turnip) and cucumber drenched with the delicious rojak sauce. Yummy!

My rojak mee
Now the price... I'm not sure how much the total was coz dad paid for the bill.. But I'm very sure that the cendol is priced between RM1.40 - RM1.80 and the rojak is around RM3.00 - RM3.50.

Ready to sluuuuuurrrrppppp!!!

My Hometown ... Seremban

OK.. I think I should start this post with a brief intro of myself. My name is Kenneth and I'm from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, currently working in Petaling Jaya. :-)

Negeri Sembilan

It's been a long time I've had a good look at the buildings and places in the Seremban old town since moving to Seremban 2 about 5 years ago. But this time I managed to take a few pictures (not much.. only 4 coz it was raining like cats and dogs after that) of the places and buildings in Seremban old town since I had to go and renew my passport and most importantly, my dad was the driver and I have both hands to myself. :-)

Seremban
The pictures are not perfect as they were not taken with some high tech cameras. :-P Here you go...

Chin's Fashion: This is where mummy always bring me to buy my school uniforms. From primary to secondary school. Very loyal customers.. :-P

The tree opposite Chin's Fashion. It's still there after so many years and it's so tall now.

Wisma Punca Emas: Used to be quite happening before they built Terminal One and Seremban Parade. A popular place for school kids to "lepak" when they "ponteng" school because of the video games center inside. Me.. Used to be one of them :-P But I don't think school kids nowadays come here anymore. There's a swimming pool at the roof top but not sure if it's still there. Ah ... Those were the days :-)

Hap Kee: A popular shop in town when Chinese New Year is around the corner. It's been around for many years. Usually people will come here to buy their "lap ap" and "lap cheung".
It does bring back a lot of memories ... :-)
